PSA Tim doesn’t work here anymore, and they were weird about it when my husband asked why. I’ve been going here for 8 years, but they somehow had no record of my car on this most recent visit (every prior visit with Tim, they’d already had all my info pulled up and I just had to drop the keys). Also, they charge for diagnostics now, which they (or at least Tim) didn’t used to do. Also they mismanaged the cables on some suspension work they did recently and I had to do the same replacement AGAIN less than a year later, and they didn’t cop to the error until my husband pressed them on it. Looking for somewhere else, looks like Wilson’s is the place to try per another reviewer.

I highly recommend Nelson's for your automotive repair and maintenance needs! Terry really took care of us way beyond the call of duty as we searched for a used car. He really went the extra mile for us! We have been bringing vehicles here for several years now since our daughter has lived in Minneapolis and they have always treated us fairly and honestly! Thank you Terry and crew for all of your outstanding service!

I love Nelsons on Hennepin and will continue to trust them with maintenance on my 8 year old car. I've had 3 visits with them so far and each time I've had a positive experience based on: 1) Great customer service 2) They don't upsell me on extra parts/labor 3) They do solid work and do it quickly Not only that, but they are open about sharing professional opinions, and put me at ease without being judgemental.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Especially if you are a woman. Not sure if they charge more based on gender, but I was able to go to another local mechanic and save 1k. Whoever was at the desk also talked in a degrading tone, booked me at the wrong time than what he said over the phone and made it out to be my fault, tried to charge me an inspection fee I didn't agree to, and then threatened me. The other mechanic I went to had a very good laugh when I told him this story and was actually kind and reasonable, and has driven like a dream thus far. Seriously. Don't go here, they're genuinely horrible. Shout out to Wilson's!

My wife and I have been burned by mechanics in the past that have overcharged us for the smallest issues. My wife had her check engine light checked by Terry and he didn't even charge us a dime and fixed the problem on her car!! We will definitely be taking our cars here for repair in the future. Thank you Terry for being so helpful and honest with her even when I wasn't there.
