I had a fantastic experience at Car-X Tire & Auto. From the moment I walked in, the staff were friendly, professional, and upfront about everything. They took the time to explain what needed to be done and never tried to upsell me on unnecessary services. The work was done quickly, efficiently, and at a fair price. Car-X delivered across the board. I’ll definitely be coming back for all my maintenance and repairs. Highly recommend!

Last week I came for and oil change and emissions, had a great experience with Rob. He was courteous, kind and efficient and then discussed brakes that were needed. It was all so positive that I ordered the brakes and came back a few days later. Again, excellent customer service. I am grateful for such smooth experiences and I will be back for any future service!

Was told the manager Joe was going to be in today to help me with an issue but later got told he was a “no show” to work and isn’t available which is extremely unprofessional and NOT okay especially since I drove over an hour just to see him so he can help me with a mechanical + coupon issue. I didn’t want to drive back empty-handed so I stayed and did my overdue emission as well as a brake inspection, was walked through the process by a young gentleman Andre who told me all about what my brakes needed done in the future and was respectful and polite and didn’t rush the explanation process, I felt very grateful for his service. I guess other than the crappy manager issue, the mechanics who work in the bay are much more knowledgeable and helpful….

UPDATE: Gotta love the response from business to call them at the number they provide to only have that number hang up on your after going through the prompts. Called a couple times, same outcome. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Similar to a previous customer regarding emission testing, if I could put zero stars I would. I've already complained to CarX's corporate office and the IL AirTeam, but the level of disrespect, rudeness, and poor customer service from the general manager of this location is off the chart. Waited over an hour for emission testing to only be told to go to Skokie because he didn't like my "attitude" when challenging him on the wait. As he stated, "I don't work for your hurry", which the irony is off the charts since I, along with many others, had been waiting over an hour to get to be up next, only to miss the poorly handwritten sign covered in glossy plastic which under the glaring sign was difficult to read on top of the written in ball point pen to wait at the sign was easily missed. I just pulled up to the bay when the previous car pulled out reflexively. Instead of just politely asking me to move back or pointing out the sign, the GM's snarky comment was "I don't work for your hurry" followed by him pulling a yellow chain link across the bay, walking into the office and not be seen for another 10-15 minute. After which, I entered the office to confront the GM to be only told he doesn't have to serve me and go to Skokie. While this place is convenient from a location, this office needs serious management change and the customer service from the person who is supposedly managing the entire operations of the location was incredibly offensive. DO NOT GO HERE.

They JUST started doing emissions testing here last week and I was lucky enough to pop in this morning and get in and out in about 5 minutes! THAT BEING SAID… I recommend making an appointment because it is in the city and once people find out, it’s gonna be packed and they don’t have a big parking lot for a ton of cars like the places in the burbs. The guys here are super nice. Highly recommend.
